USE SOCIAL MEDIA TO BOOST YOUR SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION RANKING
BRANDS should use social media to protect their reputation as well as their Search Engine Optimization rankings, says SEO specialist Greg Smith.
The founder of highly successful RxSEO.net which serves businesses of all sizes says it is important not to under estimate the pro-active value of social media.
He says: “The image of improving your Search Engine Optimization rankings is often one of hectic maintenance dealing with issues such as mega tags and HTML keywords. Naturally they have their place, but it is very easy to neglect the positive power of social media in spreading your message to your target audience.”
The key question that business need to bear in mind, he goes on, is what are the second, third and fourth results that come up when someone searches for their brand? “Your website is all-important and should always be the first result thrown up by the search engine,” says Greg. “This is your top promotional tool as it should be packed with top quality and appropriate content over which you have sole editorial control. You are therefore in charge of this part of your web destiny. But subsidiary results can throw up negatives such as unwanted reviews or people making their unhappy feelings known on forums. But you can regain that lost control by making full use of social media such as Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest – this will both ensure a positive promotion of your brand and also boost your Search Engine Optimization rankings.”
This helps Google to present your business in a helpful way. The search engine will naturally place websites – including yours – in different categories, including Leisure, Sport and Entertainment for example. “The golden guideline is that if you provide more and appropriate content, the easier it is for Google to classify your pages,” explains Greg. “In this way an effective use of blog post tags, retweets and customer reviews gives search engines more keywords to detect and therefore boost your Search Engine Optimization rankings.”
Social media also has strong benefits for the buying cycle. “The power of social media is truly awesome,” says Greg. “Look at it this way: each time you put content out there in the virtual world, you are potentially opening a new door in your business world. It is amazing how much business is generated through reading a Tweet with a link to your Facebook page.
“The nature of online shoppers is that they do their research online and look for endorsements from fellow shoppers just like them. So instead of leaving it to chance that they will find a helpful customer review use Twitter and/or Facebook to put the results directly into your hands. These reviews will often show up above other rating platforms and do wonders for your Search Engine Optimization rankings.”
Greg reveals that RxSet.net has a number of specific packages designed to improve your Search Engine Optimization rankings. These include their Advanced SEO plan available at $1,299. “This fully lives up to its top billing,” he says. “Our plan has been strategically designed with advanced SEO professionals in mind.
