Local SEO is becoming the most important marketing factor for business owners, from all over the world. I’ve recently found that more and more webmasters are doing their own Local SEO campaigns — for not only their own websites, but for sites of clients too. I recently done some really in depth research on Elance and Odesk (Freelance Platforms) and what I found, made me sick to my stomach.
The Number One Reason Why You Have Failed At Local SEO
What I found, was that Freelance Local Search Optimizers and Foreign webmasters are providing tons of services on Elance and Odesk and aren’t providing their clients with results. Afterward, I sit down and pondered upon this unbelievable aspect of what’s going on in the Local SEO market. A lot of us don’t see this going on, because it’s going on behind these outsourcing and freelance platforms, and not a lot of people are blogging about it. Truth is, there isn’t many of us who focus 100% on the topic of Local SEO.
Not only is the blame on freelance marketers and foreign webmasters, but the same amount of blame is on local webmasters. The reason I have found that so many of you have failed at search engine optimization, is solely because you’re too focused on advanced strategies.

Those of you who know me, know that I’m a personal fitness trainer. Something I seen in the gym for many years, was people using suppliments, energy drinks, protein drinks, etc. Everyone wants to be a chief, and no one wants to be an Indian, and what I mean by that is, everyone wants to get to the TOP, with the least amount of work possible, and by spending (investing) the least amount of money imaginable.
Local SEO is another example of this metaphor, look around you — SEO industry leading platforms, those such as SEOMoz are daily writing blog post pertaining to soo many different topics, topics from using different I.P addresses on different sites, to cloaking affiliate links so that Google search crawlers don’t find them. All of the things that are 110% irrelevant, is 99% of a learning SEO’s number one focus.
The reason why you have failed at Local SEO, time after time is because you are missing out on the most important factors of Local SEO and what it takes to rank a website. There’s been so many times I’ve received emails from these same types of people, complaining to me that local SEO doesn’t work, and they ask me to review their problems. When I go to review their problems, what I find is things like title tags missing, and 100 word content, being unoptimized.
You have to crawl before you walk, even if it means making mistakes and doing things that are less respected. Everyone deserves the right to learn, so before you say that Local SEO doesn’t work and you’re ready to just give up, go back to the basics, I don’t care how advanced you “think” you are. Sometimes even the best of us miss things, and need to look back upon them and do some correcting.
