Smarty Pants Marketing was founded in Morehead, Kentucky by a young man who goes by the name of Gregory Smith – Gregory was 26 years old when he created his first startup. Gregory had a life-long passion of becoming a successful entrepreneur. Growing up in Winston Salem North Carolina, Greg started working at a fairly young age for his father, who was a Construction contractor. Greg’s dad wasn’t your average dad, Greg’s dad was fairly tough on Greg – he held his son up to high standards.
At the age of sixteen, Greg began managing a seamless gutter company (crew) for his father, putting Greg in charge of men much, much older than him. Construction work comes with a different type of men, those that are rugged, work for hardly nothing just to get by, convicted felons, drug addicts – you name it. All while Greg had no choice in the matter, Greg felt a strong since of pride knowing that he had his own business (or at least felt like he did). It’s fair to say that Greg grew up fast, with a father who didn’t really know how to show him love, other than providing him with money, and putting him in charge of a few hard knocks.
Greg had no need to continue going to school. He dropped out of high school at a young age, going to work for himself. Sad to say, but…Greg dwelt at a life full of failures and attempts. Let’s just say that Greg didn’t get what he had expected. Later in life, after learning things the hard way, Greg went back to school to get his G.E.D and continue his education.
Making a Long Story Short
Greg was the type who stood his ground and worked really hard for what he got. After growing up the way Greg was forced to, he had enough mistakes in his past, to have learned a lot from them. Greg was a man with many talents, a jack of all trades — and Greg was sick of not getting anywhere with his talents, after trying just about everything there was to try, in order to jump back on his feet, Greg had took about all life could possibly throw at him, and after many years of agony, something inside of him told Greg — why not take a go at computers again. Greg was always a charm working with computers as a child.
