Link Building is something we are all familiar with. The truth about posting links within your website content is that, if you are really stingy about not wanting to link out to other sites, your SERP rank won’t be nearly as successful. It’s always a great idea to link out. It’s always a great idea to use the rel=nofollow tag, when appropriate. Beware of what websites you link out to though, because some websites will try to charge you for linking to them.

It’s true. 2013 has offered so many new and wonderful occurances. The National Newspapers of Ireland want to charge for links to their articles. Not reproductions. Not excerpts. Links. Don’t get me wrong, I have a lot of sympathy for content that is scraped, stolen, and otherwise repurposed without the permission of its creator. But how does a mere link to an Irish newspaper’s content hurt it such that it feels the need to demand 300 Euro?
