Local SEO and Internet Marketing Disasters To Avoid In 2013

local seo2012 was a very long, boring year for me. I can’t speak for everyone of you guys, but I can speak for me. There’s tons I’d change about the past year if I had the power to change the past. To mention a few changes I’m going to make for 2013, well…that’s just the beginning.

Local SEO – while the biggest part of you have no idea what it is still yet, there’s some of you others who are just as great at what you do as some of you others. I’ve made lots of mistakes, on and off the field. Learning from your mistakes is what makes you a better man. Old habits are hard to break, but I’m going to just say, some of them are far better to break than just sitting on.

2012 came with tons of changes, from deep within the SERP’s right to our front door step. I learned to stop trying to be so in control and allow my work to gradually power through the SERP’s. It’s a very hard thing to do, admitting ones wrong doing, but like I said it’s better to learn from ones mistakes rather to keep on keeping on. In saying that…I’ll also say that 99% of the changes that was made throughout the Google search engine during 2012 was basic common since. If you learned a damn thing, one thing you must have learned was to stop spamming and stop adding shit content to your website and that of your clients.

Search Marketing is becoming extremely difficult, especially if you’re trying to do it as a business model. I would not advise it for anyone as of now. There are far too many people trying to do the same thing. The web has turned into one big fight. Everyone is competing at a very low rate, and the customer is basically choosing the cheapest rouge. It’s the business man who’s loosing in the end here.

One just can’t get ahead, if they’re trying to solely build a business online. Anyone who tells you anything different has intentions of attempting to get into your pockets.

Local SEO – it means what it says. The most important word folks isn’t SEO, it’s the word “Local”. If you haven’t by now began establishing yourself and your business on a local basis, then your not only headed for a disaster, your going to receive a huge letdown, i don’t care how much time and effort you’ve put into your site and business. It’s a lose, lose situation.

To continue in the direction many of you are headed, is just plain dumb. Remember the light at the end of the tunnel. The whole point of starting to do what you’re doing in the first place, was to make some cash. Am I wrong? Well, it’s starting to look like you’re in it for other reasons, because for the biggest percentage of those I’ve spoken to, you aren’t making the first red cent weekly or monthly. As your health continues to deteriate, so will you and your lowsey business model. I’m not trying to offend anyone here by saying what I’m saying.

What you’ve created online is wonderful. You’ve positioned yourself as the professional. You have a great little platform. You’re all setup. All setup to get started. What I mean by that is this; you’re going to have to get yourself better established in your community. You’re going to have to start something. As of now all you’ve done is gain knowledge and experience in many ways. There’s many things you can do to get started.

Let’s take a look at a few affordable options.

  1. Business Cards
  2. Make Signs and Place Them In Stores
  3. Rent or Lease an Office in Town
  4. Set Up Shop

Action speaks volumes. Offline marketing can be fairly easy, though it will take action. It isn’t as easy as sitting in the same chair all day. After you’ve been doing what you’ve been doing, your legs will need some stretching out anyways. Get up off your ass and let’s get to work. That’s a New Years Resolution for some of you. I’d love to help you along your way. If you have any questions, please feel free to use our comments box below. I’m always here, as you well know. I’m free to chat whenever you are.

There’s so many more things that you need to do, other than just sit in front of a computer. If all of this sounds too overwhelming for you, then I advise you to simply look for an online job, maby working as an SEO or something, for an already established company. Yes, sure there are those who’ve gotten rich from Internet Marketing and things, but….those people are few and far inbetween. There’s a lot of luck involved. You say to yourself, well….You’re good at SEO, so you should be able to setup a website and SEO it and make a ton of cash. That’s very true, you can. Though keep in the very top of your mind that SEO takes time. When I say time I mean around 12 months, for a truly successful campaign. A broke man can’t just sit and do SEO for 12 months, without income, so if you need money, I advise you to wisen up.
