What used to be called Google Places, is now called Google Plus Local. If you’re a legitimate business, then making sure you have a Google Plus business page setup, is vital to the overall success of your business. Google+ is quickly becoming the most used social media platform, for businesses all over the world.
Given that Google is generating (by my estimate) about 80% of local leads in the US and more in Europe it is essential that the listing is correct and has granular category detail about what your business does.
I just finished reading a really interesting post, the post was actually an interview of Mike from Blumenthal. Mike is said to be one of the most reputable local search marketers in the world of local search, and from what I’ve seen, I’m not going to argue that. You can judge for yourself, by reading through the interview found on another blog. After reading through the interview, you should have a pretty good idea of how important Google+ is for your business.
I am a regular user of Google+ — I really enjoy using its platform, and I love all its features. I’m not a big fan of social media at all, but Google+ has changed that. Since I’ve been using Google Plus (First Month It Came Online) I’ve learned many ways to benefit from it, and would like to share some of my secret Google Plus marketing strategies with my readers. Before I delve into the meat and nuts of this post, keep in mind that there’s a to of awesome advise located in the mentioned link, above.
I know you’re probably thinking to yourself, right about now, what the hell does do followed backlinks have to do with Google+, right? I can’t say I Blame you. I didn’t know what to think either, once I came to learn that Google+ provided “do follow links” in the profile descriptions. That’s right Johnny! This shouldn’t be misused though, I suggest that you use the description area of your Google+ profile to add quality, informative information about yourself, and your business (include a couple of links), making sure that it’s a great read. Google isn’t a great place to spam, for those of you who are already thinking about it.

Let’s Look At Some of The Other Benefits – Shall We?
The image above points to the contributors and links section, from within my Google plus profile. This area is located near the bottom area of your Google plus profile. You can’t see my links, but I have used branded links. I use these sort of links, due to what I learned from Google Penguin and Google Panda. Be safe and make your text readable. Remember, your clients will see this, and it’s on Google. Be safe and use it wisely.
For many of you, getting new websites and or new web pages indexed can be a real challenge. Bigger websites and big brands get crawled by Google really often, but people like you and I, well…we don’t receive the same treatment. You should take advantage of every possibility, you can get your hands on, as long as it doesn’t violate guidelines.
Other indexing benefits include, but aren’t limited to — proof of content. What I mean by this is, when you write a post and publish it online, you need it to become indexed in Google, as quickly as possible. If a spammer or scraper copies your content, and publishes it on their website, and it gets indexed first, then they can prove ownership. If someone does this to you, they can also submit a DMCA take down request.
If you have changed something on your homepage or done a basic website fix, you want Google to know about it ASAP. The best way to get this done, is via indexing. You should also share that information by sharing it on Google+ — don’t just spam it though — share it using a really eye catching excerpt.
Google Plus, like other social media platforms is so filled, with so many marketers, it’s hard to get noticed, unless you’re already a super star. Truth is, I found a few neat little ways to get my foot in the door on Google Plus. For one, this is a new platform. Google Plus isn’t but just a year old, and that’s still really new. Now’s the time for you to make your big move, if you’re going to make one at all.
One thing’s for sure, if you haven’t — then you have now. Google Plus communities is a new feature on Google Plus. Google Plus communities are sorta like Facebook groups, but a lot better. This entire platform is new guys, and people are rushing in like animals. When you join Google Plus communities — you’re allowed to share your new content to them. What I mean by that is, let’s say you’re on your own blog, and you’re wanting to share your newly created blog post to Google Plus, well when you click the +1 button/tab it asks you if you want to share that post with your friends, circles, etc — well when you’re a part of Google’s awesome Google Plus communities, the +1 tab allows you to share your content to those HUGE communities, thus providing you with tons of +1′s and comments, etc. All of this makes for a major search ranking increase. Google Plus provides search benefits. If you didn’t know that — well, you do now!, eh? 
What? You haven’t heard of Google Authorship? I feel sorry for you. For all you others, this is just another benefit I wanted to mention, as a part of my Google Plus benefits post. Live it, Love it, Learn it!
No I don’t have a new spam software to offer you, I quit that many years ago. What I do have to teach you about Google Plus is that it’s easy to add friends (Contacts). It’s nothing at all like Facebook, where as you get temporarily blocked, for adding people you don’t know. On Google+ you can add new friends all day long, as many as you’d like. What’s the point in doing this? The more people you add to your circles, the more who add you to theirs! This makes for a POWER platform — when you implement it as I’ve showed you.
Google+ offers a lot of benefits to marketers. I’m sure as time passes, there will be tons of people who create ebooks, just like the post I’ve created for you here, the only difference will be, the price in which they charge you for their new ebook.
